Once you pass the test, the final step in the interview process will be a couple of one-on-one conversations with the hiring manager and other members of the team. Here they will ask you behavioral type questions to understand your background more and hear about how you have handled certain situations in your past.
You’ll want to use the STAR method to help you answer these questions. STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action and Results. So, you’ll need to think back to a situation, what the task was, and how you took action to handle it. Lastly, recall the results and how they were measured.
Background, skills and experience
When looking at Amazon job postings, it’s important to look at the skills and qualifications required.
They don’t always have to align perfectly with your skillset, but it’s important to have at least the basics coupled with a desire to challenge yourself, learn and grow in the role.
Experience
For an Amazon Maintenance Technician, they would like you to have completed a full engineering apprenticeship and/or qualify to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent and also to have experience in:
- Conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
- Contractor management.
- Planned preventative maintenance systems.
- Fault finding within MHE/Automation systems.
Skills needed

Candidates are given two and a half hours to complete this test.
